What is a true friendship? Who is a true friend?

1.   An "Inspirer"

Inspiration is the core of friendship. A true friend is the one that inspires you to the next level per time. He is that person that his vision causes your vision to leap for joy. When a true friend speaks you see the future, when a true friend speaks your dead dreams, visions and plans come alive. A true friend removes dust from your vision books and hands in a biro in to your hand to write the visions afresh. The voice of a true friend pushes you to complete abandoned project in you live. A true friend is a man of vision, a man without vision is a man without restrain. Friendship with a man and woman of vision is a purposeful friendship. A man without vision is a perishing fellow because “the vision of your friend is a picture of your future” without vision the people perish”. A relationship with a visionless fellow is a perishing relationship. Friendship they say is not by force but by choice. It is wisdom to carefully select your friends. Anybody that can’t inspire you should not be your friend and is not worthy of your hand or destiny in marriage. Look well, think well, appraise well.

2.   A Challenger

A true friend challenges you out of the status quo. A true friend pushes you without looking back to make sure you succeed. A true friend does not condone your excuses.  A true friend is the “press that ensures oil is extracted from the olive, juice is drained from the fruit, paper is produce from the timber, crude oil gives up (petrol, kerosene, diesel etc.)” A true friend does not pity you because his eye is on the future. A true friend will not excuse you from the intensity of the heart because he wants you to be refined in to pure gold that will be high priced tomorrow.

Please note this “anyone that does not challenge you is not a true friend. Anybody that condones your misbehavior and does not correct you and challenge you to do better is only around you for what they can get from you today, they will soon abandon you.

3.   A  Bank Of Truth

A true friend does not find it difficult to tell you the truth about who you really are. He celebrates you when you excel and reprimands you when you decline. Anyone who will not frown at your wrong doing is not a true friend. This kind of individual will “smile you in to the grave”. Please be very careful with people that all they have to offer you is praises even when you know that you have done something that is extremely bad.

Sycophant are the worst kind of people to have around you , they are grave diggers and very parasitic in nature, you do not want to have a sycophant as a friend. Look well, select well, and be wise.

4.   A Friendly Person

A man that hah friend must show himself friendly (Prov. 18:24) can you say a person is a true friend without being friendly?

He is to be an inspirer but friendly, a challenger but friendly, a bank of truth but friendly.

What does it mean to be friendly?

Ø Be accommodating

Ø Be receptive

Ø Be without envy

Ø Be without pride

Ø Be without jealousy

A true friend will must have the following virtues

Love

Joy

Peace

Patience

Goodness

Faithfulness

Gentleness

Self control

Kindness

STOP!  D  Don’t read again!

Carefully and without any biased, do any appreciate the people you call friends? Do they possess the above listed virtues? If they do not, think again and accept this truth – they are not your true friends!

 It may also interest you to know that the above listed virtues are fruit of the spirit of God. For anyone to poses the fruit of the Holy Spirit, they must have been rooted in him. Look well, think well, and be wise.

If a relationship draws you away from the presence of God, that is not a true friendship.

A true friend will not lure you to sin; a true friend will rather draw you close to God.

If every time you meet a person, you always have cause to feel guilty, this is not a friend. The right relationship will never distract you from God or from destiny fulfillment.

True friendship and romance

Romance lays emphasis on emotions. It suspends intelligence and purposeful thinking.

The marriage and relationship experts- pastor Ezekiel Atang rightly says “when you start touching, you stop talking” In romance intelligence is suspended and all your thought is on the now and how to fulfill the desires of romance which will in turn deplete your destiny destroy your chance of marring the person you are involved with.

 Romance is selfish in nature. If you care to know, the initiates of the romance have his own selfish interest to fulfill his lust. People that initiate and involve in romance are basically selfish people.

 Romance is show of selfishness. The major question to ask before involving in any form of romance is what is the purpose of romance?
