MAKE HEALTHY DECISIONS

1. MAKE HEALTHY DECISIONS
I was scheduled to travel to Calabar using a public transport to carry out an assignment that was very important to the progress of my company. As the journey commenced and the bus driver was about cruising out of the bus station I heard a very familiar voice screaming “buy sachet water”! I reluctantly tilted my neck toward that direction at adventure to confirm who had this familiar voice. To my shock, here was Iyanam, our immediate past company secretary. My interest was not to purchase the sachet water but the voice of the water merchant, so as soon as I saw what I wanted to, I relaxed on my seat and the journey continued.

THE SWITCH AFTER I SAW HER
As we traveled quiet a distance, I was again shocked at the concern the person that sat close to me expressed over my reaction after I saw Iyanam. I was shocked because the sight of Iyanam and my expression was meant to happen in the privacy of my heart, so for someone to have noticed such hidden details, she deserved to get the details as she demanded.
“I am currently working for a fast growing firm that was exactly six years ago. I was employed at the same time with Iyanam and as at then, her take home package exceeded mine because she was more certified than I. “I have submitted my resignation letter”, these were the words of Iyanam that sounded like a dream to me on that fateful Monday afternoon as we sat together for launch break. She defied everybody’s counsel and went on with her mind blowing decision to her near destruction situation. I call it near destruction decision because the last time I saw her was the last day till date.
IYANAM LEFT FOR ABUJA
Abuja is the federal capital territory of the most populated black nation in the world; the giant of Africa. Abuja is fondly called the land of opportunities. It was the city of Abuja that Iyanam resigned from her secretarial position to pitch her tent. Her reasons for leaving the job for onward relocation to Abuja were quiet interesting. Topmost on the list was that she had been in Uyo all her life and she would need to have a taste of a new location and secondly, she also said that since no man had shown interest in a serious relationship, she may be lucky to find such a man in the land of opportunities; Abuja.
Her hatred and malice with me was because of my huge sin; telling her to seek counsel and pray about her decision. For me, I knew that serious decisions like that of location should never be based on sentiments but God’s will and purpose for your life per time.
